What a difference a platform makes

I'm taking a MOOC (massively open online course) about mobile journalism right now and got to thinking about what looks like on a smartphone. I'm not talking about the app but the responsive version of the regular website.

Something popped out right away to me. What do you think it was?

Did you guess "the ad"? That's what struck me. With so many more of The Orion's readers using smartphones to read the paper, that ad should be the most expensive spot on the website. Don't you think?
